CBC's first service was held in our house on November 4th, 2007. From the time we arrived in South Africa in February 2007 we only had a Wednesday night Bible Study and went to the Baptist church in Hazyview on Sundays. The church was officially constituted by the Calvary Baptist Church of King, North Carolina, USA on November 1st, 2009. On that date, Pastor Kevin Broyhill of our home church preached, the charter was signed by members.
Our greatest attendance has been 59, and we average at about 25 on Sunday mornings. The church's first venue was our house; then in 2008 the Red Cross of White River allowed CBC to use the building on Sundays. This is our current venue for all White River services, as the Red Cross moved to Nelspruit not long after CBC began meeting there.
Other ministries of CBC White River include:
- Visitation on Saturday Mornings
- Soup Ministry on Wednesdays
- Tent Revival
- KYB (Know Your Bible Club)
- Pastor's Fellowship
- Men's Breakfast
- Extended Ministry in Swalala & Hoedspruit
